Loads Of Love

Here’s the card I made for my Valentine - I hope he likes it!

The card base has some of the words from the Welcoming Words Level 1 Hostess set stamped over it in VersaMark ink, along with some spots from the Seeing Spots set.
Unfortunately, it can’t be seen very clearly in the photo.
I pricked a line of holes along the straight piece of card and then turned my attention to the heart pouch.
I love making templates to use with my card making. This heart shaped one took a bit of fiddling to get it the way I wanted it, but I got there in the end.
Do you think the closure looks a bit like eyes?
There are lots of pull-out tags inside the pouch which can be seen more clearly below.
Inside I wrote, 'I love you' in my best-est handwriting and signed it with a ? As I always initial my work though, it won't take him long to suss out it came from me!
Time for me to tidy up now. I got just about everything out in order to make this card.

Nature's Wonders

Here are some more of my mini cards.
No, you’re not seeing double, there ARE two of each card pictured! I usually do this so that I always have a spare card for a rainy day.

I used stamps from the Nature’s Wonders set. There are 4 in the set for £14.95 and that works out at £3.74 each - a bargain! Plus, they come in a sturdy storage box.
The code number is 100747 and you can see the whole set on page 46 of the catalogue.

The Dragonfly one is on Whisper White card stock and the Sand Dollar one is on Very Vanilla.

The background was stamped using the Sanded background stamp. These are huge and will cover the whole of an A6 card in one go.
A good tip is to lie the inked stamp on its back and carefully place the card on top. Cover with a piece of scrap paper and smooth over gently with your hand, the back of another stamp, or roller over it with a brayer. Remove the scrap paper and lift your card straight up and there you have it - a perfectly inked background!

I stamped the images and inked their edges and also the edges of the card base to give them a bit of definition.
They were then layered onto the card bases with Dimensionals and a little of the Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to give a bit of sparkle.

A swirl was added to the envelopes with the stem image from the Mixed Bouquet set, which is one of the sets on special offer at the moment. See side bar for details.

Mixed Bouquet

This is a set that I wasn’t too sure about to begin with. It seemed a bit too bold for my liking, but I had a play and came up with this:

Guess what? I love it now!

It’s a tent fold card, which is a bit different and I used my new pricking template and mat from the Crafter’s Tool Kit (110089), to make a series of holes along the strip of brown card.
The flower images were stamped on Very Vanilla card stock for a warmer feel.

The leaves were fun to do. You stamp the outline then use an infill stamp, so no colouring required! It’s called 2-Step Stamping.

The flower outline was stamped and coloured after pressing a Cameo Coral ink pad onto a stamp box lid and picking up the colour with an Aqua Painter.
Don’t colour it in totally, leave some pale edges for highlights. A quick dab with a baby wipe afterwards and the lid was all clean again.

The swirls and sentiment were stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and then the card put together, with the flowers and leaves lifted on Dimensionals to make them the focus of the card.
A knotted ribbon and a few dabs of glitter to highlight the rose and swirls and it was done.

As usual, I added an image to the envelope for that special finishing touch!

Stamps: Mixed Bouquet & Wonderful Words
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip & Cameo Coral
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive & Cameo Coral
Accessories: Crafter’s Tool Kit, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Snail Adhesive & Dimensionals
