I cleaned the stamp and then inked it up with VersaMark ink and stamped it ever so slightly to the side of the first image.
I sprinkled on some Heat & Stick powder and heated it with my Heat Tool, then sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, shook the excess off and set it with a blast of the Heat Tool once more.
Once the image has cooled down you can brush off the excess glitter that’s still clinging to the card with a paint or makeup brush.
The resulting image looks really sparkly and as if it’s floating on the surface!
As for the ribbon - I secured it to the card with Snail Adhesive, tied a bow separately and stuck it down with a Mini Glue Dot. That way I don’t get a twist in the ribbon and the bow lies nicely on top of it.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs & Seasonal Wishes
Paper: Brocade Blue & Whisper White
Ink: Brocade Blue & VersaMark
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals, Heat & Stick Powder, Heat Tool, Paper Folder, Scallop Edge Punch, Silver Embossing Powder & Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~
Your Independent Stampin’ Up! If you each gather orders, one could have the hostess stamp set, the other could have the background stamp and you can share £25 or £35 worth of goods between you, depending on whether you reach sales of £250 or £300.

Don't forget, I also have my own offer of a FREE Idea Book And Catalogue for first orders of £35 and over, which may help you to get some orders.

Even if you can't host or attend a workshop, send me an individual order and when I get sales of £250, I'll draw a name and that person will be the one who gets to choose a FREE background stamp when I place the order!

Workshops are great fun and I taylor them to your abilities and interests.
I will demonstrate some techniques or projects such as cards, scrapbook pages, gift boxes or altered items and then you and your guests get to make something and take it home.

Workshops are FREE, as a hostess all you need to provide are some refreshments and perhaps some easy snacks. If you have a smaller house you can host a workshop at my home - you just bring the nibbles!

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~
Your Independent Stampin' Up! My name, Deborah, actually means bee in Hebrew, so this is why I love the little creatures! You can see the whole set on page 40 of the current Idea Book And Catalogue.

The paper is from the Hostess Patterns Pack DSP and I chalked around the edges to soften them a bit. These papers are only available as a Free Hostess Product for the duration of the current Idea Book And Catalogue and I love the colours that have been used for them. Check them out on page 11.

I used my new Scallop Square Punch to make the mats for the bee images.

Watercolour Wonder Crayons were used to paint the images. Being a watercolourist I found the Crayons and Aqua Painters a bit alien to use at first, but now I'm a convert! is no exception.

The first Mini Catalogue has just been released and it's full of lovely new things. You can take a peep here, or check out the link on the side bar to the right.

I have to say my favourite stamp set can be seen on page 19. It's called Playful Petals (113728) and is priced at £25.95 for a set of 7 stamps.
There's a matching Designer Series Paper(DSP) called Tea Party (115158) to use with them priced at £7.75 for 12 double sided, 12"x12" sheets of heavy weight paper. That works out at 65p per sheet.
For those who have used it you'll know what good quality it is - heavier than normal paper and ideal for making mini albums and gift boxes, as some of you have done with me in class.

My next must-have is the set of 4 stamps called Oval All (113790) on page 16. Priced at £14.95 they have greetings and flourishes which can be used alone, or interchanged by inking with a marker pen and using a Stamp-a-ma-jig.
There are 2 new punches to use with them - the Large Oval (115156) and the Scallop Oval (115429), which is slightly bigger and ideal for matting onto. These are both £12.50.

What else?
Check out the Fresh Cut Notes - cards with a flower cut-out on the front. You'll find them on page 4.
Page 6 has new Rub-Ons with floral designs called Planter Box.
Fresh Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (that looks good enough to eat!) can be found on page 12.
Designer Buttons can be found on page 16 in lush, Latte colours.

For those of you already working on your Christmas cards, or last year's Christmas layouts (who me?) there are some lovely new stamp sets and DSP.

Don't just take my word for it - have a look for yourself and see what you think. My wish list is getting bigger by the minute!

Next month there will be a special offer for the Scrapbookers amongst you.

If you'd like to host a party, get together an order with some friends (if it adds up to £150 or more, you'll get free stamp sets and goodies), or just order for yourself, then please let me know.
Don't forget my own offer of a free Idea Book And Catalogue if you spend over £35 on your first order.

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~
Your Independent Stampin' Up! Other swirls were stamped with the VersaMark pad then sprinkled with Heat 'n' Stick powder before heating with the heat tool. Once heated and sticky I sprinkled on the Dazzling Diamonds glitter and heated the images again to fix the glitter in place. Instant bling!

The flower snowflakes and the greeting were inked with the VersaMark pad and embossed with White powder. After adding the grosgrain ribbon I turned my attention to the snowman.

He was made by cutting some circles out of Whisper White card stock. You could use round objects as templates and cut round them with fancy scissors, or use Nestabilities die cutting templates, as I did. I stamped the snowflake on the body as for the sparkly swirls and used the edge of the stamp and a Basic Black Marker Pen along with the Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the dotty smile. Little pieces of card offcuts made the eyes and nose and the hat was made using the Round Tab Punch. After assembling the body I raised it on Dimensionals and poked two little hole to attach his arms. These were some woody stems from a Clematis plant growing in the garden!

Stamps: Season Of Joy

Paper: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Basic Black & Pumpkin Pie

Ink: Basic Black Pad and Marker Pen, Brocade Blue & VersaMark

Accessories: Snail Adhesive, Dimensionals, Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Heat & Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Crafter's Tool Kit & Round Tab Punch

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~

Your Independent Stampin' Up! Idea Book And Catalogue is now on-line and you'll find the link to it on the side bar of my blog.

The catalogue is even better value this year, at only £4.95.
If you'd like to host a party, or join a Stamper's Six Club, I'll give you a catalogue free of charge.
If you buy a catalogue and spend over £35 on your first order, I'll refund the £4.95.

As well as containing many new stamp sets and Designer Series Papers, there are card and layout ideas and lots of hints and tips. I think it's excellent value, considering most craft magazines are around £4 these days and full of adverts!

I have some parties booked and have reserved catalogues for the hostesses, but there are a few catalogues remaining of this initial batch so if you'd like one, e-mail me at Heartfelt.Stamping@hotmail.com

I have just put in my first order which includes Fun & Fast Notes (p30), a lovely all occasion set of 8 stamps for £29.95, which works out at £3.74 per stamp. There is a wheel called Fast Flowers (p31) to go with it, priced £5.50.
I have ordered a set called A Rose Is A Rose (p44) which is one of those two-step stamping sets - no colouring required! It costs £32.95 and contains 14 stamps which works out at £2.35 each - even cheaper than those by Anitas!

Do you like boho style? If so, take a look at the sets on page 49. They also went into my basket, or should I say trolley! To co-ordinate with those stamp sets I chose Spiced Cider, a set of Designer Series Papers which you can see on page 71. They're lovely Autumn-y colours - just right for this time of year. I also chose Haiku with similar colours, but slightly fresher. The papers cost £7.75 for 12 sheets of double sided heavy-weight paper, two each of 6 designs working out at 65p a sheet.

What else? Double stitched 1" wide grosgrain ribbon in Chocolate Chip at £6.95 for a 9.1m reel. That's a reasonable 76p per metre.
Oh, and a Scallop Edge border punch for £10.95, plus a Boho Flower punch at £12.50 to go with one of the stamp sets.

I chose A Little Bit Of Happiness (p9) for my free hostess set and two more sets of Designer Series Papers, Sweet Always and the very English sounding, Tea And Crumpets with my £15 free merchandise.

Now I just have to sit back and wait for them to be delivered to my door! I wish I could be more patient, but in meantime, I'm working on some new card designs using Season Of Joy (p21), for a class I hope to run very soon. If you'd be interested in joining me for that, then let me know.

If you like a challenge, I design the sketch challenges on In Love With Stamping. I used Season Of Joy to make a card for my most recent sketch. There are lots of challenges including scrapbook layouts, colour combinations and techniques.

In Love With Stamping also has a growing gallery so you can get ideas for using your Stampin' Up! stamps, punches and papers. The stamp sets are listed by name alphabetically, so you'll have no problem finding your own sets there.

Well, I think that's it for the moment. Keep checking my blog as I have lots of designs to post here over the next few days.

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~
Your Independent Stampin' Up! All the previous ones are retiring, although they're still available for a short time while stocks last.

There is textured 12" paper available in each of the Colour Families, as well as the Classic (Dye) Stampin' Spots, mini versions of the standard ink pads, that come in a box.

As for the punches there are Boho Blossoms and a Scallop Border punch, as well as others that are new to the UK.

What else? Stamps of course!
Lots of new ones with matching wheels. And... some fabulous hostess sets. These are sets that can't be bought, only earned according to sales. The Level 1 sets are earned when sales reach between £150 and £199.99. In addition to the free stamp set, you would earn £15 in free goodies of your choice from the catalogue! Could you get together 4 or 5 friends who share your love of stamping, whether for cards or scrapbook pages? Why not invite them to your home for a Stampin' Up! party? I'll come along and demonstrate some of the goodies that I've mentioned and then everyone gets to play and make something to take home. I'll tailor the party to suit your skill levels and make creativity fun for you all.

If you don't have room for a party, get together a group order with your friends and I'll send each of you a kit with instructions so you still get to play and have fun.

The catalogue is even cheaper than last year, at £4.95. This will be refunded if your first order is for £35 or more. It will be free if you would like to hostess a Stampin' Up! party, or join one of my Budget Clubs, such as Stamper's Six.

Well, what are you waiting for? Weeks of speculation about what it may, or may not contain will end and we'll get to feast our eyes on the goodies enclosed within! My hope and expectation is that the catalogue will be even bigger and better than the first one!
Can you tell that I'm excited at the prospect?

I know that quite a few items haven't made it to the new Idea Book And Catalogue and that they have been earmarked for retirement. Take a few moments to check the list and see if the stamp set that you've had your eye on, or the set of Designer Series Papers that you've promised yourself is on the list. If it is, you'll need to act fast as they won't be available after 30th September and supplies are limited.
Similarly, if there is a Hostess set you'd love you'll need to book a party date well before the end of September.

If you'd like to order some goods, or a copy of the new Idea Book And Catalogue please contact me at Heartfelt.Stamping@hotmail.com

Remember that the retiring items are making way for new ones, along with a whole new selection of Hostess sets. Book your party now, while I still have a few appointments free.

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~
Your Independent Stampin' Up! It's my favourite month of the year and I always feel sad when it's gone.
This month has been particularly busy, what with one thing or the other, so I'd better post the details of the other two cards that I made with the May Special Offer Combo.
If you're interested in buying anything from the offer, get your skates on, as I need to order by tomorrow lunch time!

This card was made for a colour challenge on the In Love With Stamping website. See all the entries by clicking here.

It's a long landscape layout with the front edge folded back after scoring about 3/4 of the way along. I rolled the pattern using the Spot On wheel after inking it well on an Apricot Appeal ink pad. I added images from the Seeing Spots set in the other two colours of the challenge, Brocade Blue and Only Orange. I was a bit scared of using such a bright colour, so opted to use only a very small amount!
The turned back panel was stuck down and then decorated with the Brocade Blue ribbon.

For the embellishment, I stamped and punched out the flower image, layered it onto a slightly larger circle of Only Orange and then used a brad to secure the two together. This was then stuck to a scallop circle using dimensionals on the right hand side only. After a bit of repositioning, I was able to find the right spot to stick it down, so that the front edge of the card tucked behind it.

It was simpler to make than it looks and I really enjoyed it!

Stamps: Seeing Spots & Spot On Wheel
Paper: Apricot Appeal, Brocade Blue, Very Vanilla & Only Orange
Ink: Apricot Appeal, Only Orange & Brocade Blue
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8” and 1 1/4” Circle Punches, Brocade Blue 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Crafter's Tool Kit, Vintage Brad, Snail Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots & Dimensionals

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~
Your Independent Stampin’ Up! I used the Wheel Guide (109920), which is nice and deep and the wheel just runs alongside it in a nice straight line. I've tried using ordinary rulers, but the wheels tends to ride up and over them spoiling the cardstock in the process. I've used the wheel for a card in this example, but you could just as easily cover a bigger piece of cardstock and use it for your scrapbooking instead.

Right, for the central panel I used my Soft Subtles markers directly on the stamp and then 'huffed' on it, to re-moisten the ink just before stamping. With the yellow centres, I thought the flowers could be little Forget-me-nots.

I stamped the words exactly in place by using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. This has to be one of the most useful tools that I have. I've lost count of the times that I've spent ages creating a card, only to spoil it with a wonky greeting! Not now, though!

I mounted the piece onto several mats. Try varying the widths and colour arrangement of these, to give the best effect. The darker colours tend to look better on the outside, as they enclose and make things look smaller.

The Bluebird was stamped separately, cut out and mounted on dimensionals. That's it - sweet and simple, just how I like a card to be!

Stamps: Carte Postale & Leaves A La Carte Wheel

Paper: Bashful Blue, Whisper White & Night Of Navy

Ink: Bashful Blue, Night Of Navy & Soft Subtles Markers in Bashful Blue, Barely Banana & Certainly Celery

Accessories: Dimensionals

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~

Your Independent Stampin' Up! I usually do this so that I always have a spare card for a rainy day.

I used stamps from the Nature’s Wonders set. There are 4 in the set for £14.95 and that works out at £3.74 each - a bargain! Plus, they come in a sturdy storage box.
The code number is 100747 and you can see the whole set on page 46 of the catalogue.

The Dragonfly one is on Whisper White card stock and the Sand Dollar one is on Very Vanilla.

The background was stamped using the Sanded background stamp. These are huge and will cover the whole of an A6 card in one go.
A good tip is to lie the inked stamp on its back and carefully place the card on top. Cover with a piece of scrap paper and smooth over gently with your hand, the back of another stamp, or roller over it with a brayer. Remove the scrap paper and lift your card straight up and there you have it - a perfectly inked background!

I stamped the images and inked their edges and also the edges of the card base to give them a bit of definition.
They were then layered onto the card bases with Dimensionals and a little of the Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to give a bit of sparkle.

A swirl was added to the envelopes with the stem image from the Mixed Bouquet set, which is one of the sets on special offer at the moment. See side bar for details.

Stamps: Nature’s Wonders & Sanded
Paper: Whisper White & Very Vanilla
Ink: Tempting Turquoise & Brocade Blue
Accessories: Dimensionals & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Thanks for looking!

If you’d like to make projects like these yourself, then please contact me at Heartfelt.Stamping@hotmail.com to arrange a party. It seemed a bit too bold for my liking, but I had a play and came up with this:

Guess what? I love it now!

It’s a tent fold card, which is a bit different and I used my new pricking template and mat from the Crafter’s Tool Kit (110089), to make a series of holes along the strip of brown card.
The flower images were stamped on Very Vanilla card stock for a warmer feel.

The leaves were fun to do. You stamp the outline then use an infill stamp, so no colouring required! It’s called 2-Step Stamping.

The flower outline was stamped and coloured after pressing a Cameo Coral ink pad onto a stamp box lid and picking up the colour with an Aqua Painter.
Don’t colour it in totally, leave some pale edges for highlights. A quick dab with a baby wipe afterwards and the lid was all clean again.

The swirls and sentiment were stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and then the card put together, with the flowers and leaves lifted on Dimensionals to make them the focus of the card.
A knotted ribbon and a few dabs of glitter to highlight the rose and swirls and it was done.

As usual, I added an image to the envelope for that special finishing touch!

Stamps: Mixed Bouquet & Wonderful Words
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip & Cameo Coral
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive & Cameo Coral
Accessories: Crafter’s Tool Kit, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Snail Adhesive & Dimensionals

If you like the look of this card, contact me at Heartfelt.Stamping@hotmail.com to arrange a party and have a go yourself!

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~
Your Independent Stampin’ Up! For each of these colour families there are ink pads, refills, markers, A4 card stock, 12” x 12” card stock, patterned papers, watercolour crayons, pastels, brads, eyelets, rhinestone brads, ribbons and buttons. Phew, what a mouthful!

The flower stamps that I used are from the Pretty Posies set, which is a Level 1 Hostess Set and can be seen on page 17 of the catalogue.
So, if you host a party and gain sales of £150 - £199.99, not only can you choose one of the 5 Level 1 Hostess Gifts - you can also choose £15 worth of merchandise as well - both for free! Plus, a free catalogue just for being a hostess!
Now, doesn’t that sound good?
Not only that, you get to have fun with your friends and family whilst making cards and other projects in the comfort of your own home or club.

These two cards are destined for the ladies who have each booked a workshop with me this past week.

Why not e-mail me at
Heartfelt.Stamping@hotmail.com and we can discuss tailoring a party just for you?

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~

Loads Of Love

This is the card that I made for my husband on Christmas Eve - late on Christmas Eve, to be exact!
He loves Step-Side trucks - even more than he loves fast cars - so this one, from the Loads Of Love set on page 37 of the catalogue, seemed ideal.

I stamped it using Basic Black ink which is great for using with wet media, such as the Twinkling H2Os that I used here, as it doesn't run.
After masking the back of the truck with a post-it note, I was able to add the tree.
I painted it and put it aside to dry, whilst I worked on the rest of the card.

The base is an A4 sheet of Bashful Blue folded in half.

I originally wanted the spotty panel to be on the left hand side of the card, but an unfortunate splodge meant it had to be re-located. Why does that always happen when you're in a hurry?

The truck layer was matted onto the blue panels and the corners were removed using the lovely Ticket Corner punch. Sadly it's not in the current catalogue, but a similar effect can be achieved by using the edge of the 1/2" circle punch, 110103, on page 80 of the catalogue.

The whole thing was then mounted on dimensionals, along with the snowflakes and the heart.

A dab of glue and a frosting of glitter and it was nearly done.

I coloured the wheel hubs and the light surrounds with a silver gel pen and added a few highlights with the white gel pen and it was finished! Phew!

This really is a versatile set as, along with Loads Of Love Accessories and the two wheels (all on page 37 of the catalogue), so many occasions can be catered for.

Stamps: Loads Of Love, Time For A Tree & Spot On

Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue & Real Red

Ink: Basic Black, Bashful Blue & Brocade Blue

Accessories: Real Red grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter & White Signo Gel Pen

Thanks for looking!

~Debbie~

Tree Presents

Instead of giving each other Christmas presents, each year my sister and I make tree decorations for each other and also for our mum.

We call them our tree presents.

These are the instructions to make my 2007 tree presents, which I really enjoyed making today.

1. Start off with a 6" square of double sided, patterned paper. (I used a sheet of Stampin' Up's! Prints Designer Series Papers in the Certainly Celery colourway, code number 109948, which can be found on page 73 of the catalogue)
2. Score and fold the paper at 1" intervals, concertina fashion.

3. Find the centre of the folded paper and staple it. You'll need a long reach stapler which I didn't have, so I secured it with some stitching instead!

4. With the raw edges of the paper facing the scissors and starting about 1" out from the centre, cut diagonally towards the opposite, outer, corner.

5. Apply double sided tape to the top edge of the paper for an inch, either side of the centre.

6. Gently ease the sides together and press firmly.
7. You'll see that the star is beginning to take shape now and all that is needed it to repeat step 6 on the other side.

8. Tease the points of the star into shape.

9. Punch a small hole at the end of one of the points, insert a thin thread and knot the ends.
10. Finally, make as many stars as you would like and hang them on your tree!

Try different colours and patterns on your paper - stamp a pattern onto plain card stock instead of using printed paper - and embellish further if you wish.

Inspiration from an original design by Gina Hanson.

Thanks for looking!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and lots of stamping fun in the New Year!

~Debbie~

P.S.
